BECOMING A GUIDE
Guide Membership Overview
Guides are the heart and soul of the IHS community. As a Guide you have a tremendous range of participation options. The range starts by simply embracing the idea of Listening, Understanding & Acting to help others. By becoming an active member of the IHS community no other action on your part is required, but you can certainly choose to increase your participation level at any time. Members can opt to pursue IHS training aimed at earning various IHS degree levels. Each degree level is designed to expand your use of, and confidence with, living the IHS way.
Membership Process
Start the membership process by clicking on the “Contact Us” option at the top of this page. Follow the instructions on the page you are directed to next and describe your interest in becoming a member, and who you are interested in helping more, if appropriate.
Members can also opt to become more than just a Guide. If you are interested in becoming a Patron as well, please read a little more about that membership type, and feel free to select both if you are interested when you apply.
Membership Options
Member only.
Member Level 1 - “Listening” certified.
Member Level 2 - “Understanding” certified.
Apprentice Mentor - “Acting” certified.
Mentor - Willing to counsel and help certify other members. Also willing to take on the development of an Apprentice Mentor.
Senior Mentor - Willing to provide counsel to Mentors and assume some regional management responsibilities.
