WHAT IS THE IHS WAY?
The IHS Way is making a conscious effort to help others more. It will take shape based on your passion and the opportunities that cross your path. It could start by knocking on the door of a neighbor to ask how they are doing. Taking the time to listen to someone new is often a first step.
Listening to someone with compassion can be challenging for many reasons. They may be angry. You may not agree with everything they are telling you, etc. First, find compassion in your own heart. Second, confront your own fears and concerns. Understanding will follow.

THE IHS PROCESS TO HELP OTHERS
Consider joining an IHS endorsed organization.
Consider starting your own IHS group. If you choose this path identify the individual or group of people that you want to help.
Reach out to IHS for support if needed.
Create a council or group name. E.g. Helping Hands, Wisdom Council, Caring People, Compassion Group, Listeners, etc…
Ask for volunteers and identify an advocate or group lead. Anyone who has compassion and a genuine interest to help in your community is welcome. We recommend a minimum of two volunteers before an initial organizational meeting occurs.
Once you have at least two volunteers, schedule a team kick off meeting. In your initial meeting create an agreed upon process for customizing the IHS platform to meet your needs.
Put the council members through the necessary training to follow your agreed upon process and customized application of the IHS tool.
Make members of your community aware of your new council or group and get started!
