MEMBERSHIP TYPES
Guide
As a Guide you will learn the IHS Way of helping others. You will be challenged to listen more to those who seek your help. You will develop your skills in understanding the challenges of helping, as well as how to prioritize areas where you can help the most.
Patron
As a Patron you will humbly donate your time and expertise to develop the IHS Community. Each of us has our own unique gifts, skills, and life experiences that can benefit others. If you have the time to help, we welcome any contribution you can provide.
THE IHS WAY
IHS membership for Guides starts with listening. You will meet with an IHS Senior Guide to learn more about the IHS way and discuss how you would like to participate. If appropriate, the IHS Toolkit will be provided. Your only requirement is to have compassion for someone in need or a group of people you seek to help. IHS membership for Patrons also begins with a discussion with an IHS Senior Guide regarding how you can best help the IHS community with a contribution of your time.
Listen
Guides are likely to have already listened to the needs of whomever they seek to help. We will listen to you and provide our thoughts on how you can take your action in helping others to the next level.
Understand
We only have a limited ability to fully understand the needs and feelings of others. In order to deepen your understanding of those you seek to help, we can provide ideas and guidance to focus your conversations. Take your first step with confidence.
Act
Each time you take action to help another person, you are helping to redefine the meaning of human nature. These actions also feed and sustain your spirit. Take the first step. A giant leap may not be far behind.
